I have installed the Orbit App on my iPad and iPhone and have tried to pair with my new PC.  However, despite multiple attempts including restarting all devices, every time I try and pair I get the error message ‘we couldn’t pair because we couldn’t find any PCs in pairing mode’  the devices are all connected to the same WiFi network  Can you advise on how to make this work?

@ianchris, Thanks for your quick response and time.

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

I understand your concern, but I'm an HP representative. If you check my name next to my name I have an HP badge. Which other experts or users can have it.

Also, just to be a bit elaborate you have to download the HP orbit application from the link suggested and double click on the file and follow the onscreen instructions to install the application.

If you still have issues, please contact HP support and get the service options.

I received a response to my question which provided a freephone number. When I phoned them I gave them access to my computer as I thought they were from HP. They said I had malware and spyware on my computer and then proceeded to try and sell me expensive Network firewall protection and said they could not fix my problem unless I purchased it. I refused and terminated the call. Was this a scam? In the meantime i remain unable to Pair my devices with my PC.

Hey there! @ianchris, Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand you have issues pairing your iPhone using HP orbit application.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

As you mentioned you have issues pairing your iPhone using HP orbit application.

Try updating your IOS device to the latest version and check if it helps.

Also, uninstall and reinstall the HP orbit software from your PC and check if it helps.

Please check the version of HP Orbit installed on your PC. If you have version 3.3.131.253,  uninstall that version in Control Panel,Programs and Features and install version 1.3.60.240 from the link below:

Link to update the latest version of HP orbit application.

Thanks for responding. In the meantime I used the HP chat line and was informed that Orbit has been discontinued and no longer operates. Disappointing and all the more so since I have purchased a new computer with redundant software included.

@ianchris, thanks for your quick response and time.

As you mentioned you did chat with the HP support and they told you that the HP orbit has been discontinued.

I have checked the records according to the records and if the HP orbit application is pre-shipped with your laptop it should still work without any issues.

Did you try updating the HP orbit driver suggested in my previous thread?

If the issue persists after updating the driver from my previous thread.

Try updating the HP orbit to the latest Version: 3.5.171.271. And check if it helps.

Link to download the HP orbit application.

I've looked and looked but i simply cannot find the version number of MS Orbit on my computer. When I open the App there is no help or about tab from where i would normally get the version number. Therefore I am not able to follow your instruction.sorry if im being stupid.

In addition, before clicking on the link you provide, how can i be assured that you are an HP employee. I had an initial responseto this question via this forum which I did not realise was not from an HP employee and allowed them to assume control of my computer and they then tried to sell me very expensive Network Firewall software.

Thanks
