Would like to upgrade to dual band 2.5-5 card. Will any work and do I have to worry about a whitelist?

Hi:

 

You should be able to install any HMC form factor wlan card you want in that model.

 

I suggest the Intel 7260 dual band N or AC card with bluetooth.

 

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0                 HP Part # 710661-001

 

Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi + BT4.0    HP Part # 717381-001

 

Either card should be readily available on Amazon or eBay.

 

Do your search by the HP part #, not the model of the card.

Bought a new ac Bluetooth card as listed and works perfectly. After all these years can finally use laptop all over the house. Fantastic!
