Pavillion dv8125ea
Microsoft Windows XP

I had to reinstall my operating systems on a dv8000 I recently purchased for £10 due to a preexisting fault. Anyway I wiped the hard drive clean and installed XP home with service pack two,?(I think), XP pro and Vista Ultimate. I can connect to the internet with no problems on Vista enterprise via wifi and LAN. I cannot get the internet to work on XP home or xp pro..the internet I use has a password and windows xp asks for WEP...I installed the driver KB893357 but it still asks for WEP. I really hate it that HP no longer support older products...:(....this laptop is fine and I would like to keep using XP on it...any help from anyone? It does find the signal..but just can't get past registering...for vista I just type in the password and it works...so the hardware in the laptop can do it...I have the AMD turion ML-34....

You're very welcome.

I cannot find a SP1 download, but I think you can go from XP to SP2...Then from SP2 to SP3.

Hi:

First you should update to SP3.

You can get it from the link below...save the file onto another PC and copy it to a usb flash drive and install it.

Ethernet driver:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32105.exe

Wifi driver:

hanks for the reply. I somehow managed to delete the winxp home from the laptop and now just have win xp pro...

Unfortunately it does not have sp1 installed so I was wondering if someone could provide a link...I believe it is the 32 bit version that is installed of pro..
