HP laptop (intel core i7)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have both an HP laptop and an HP Envy 5660 all-in-one printer.  I have never had trouble sending print jobs from laptop to the wireless printer...until all of a sudden this week.  One day it printed fine, and the next day it didn't. I am able to send print jobs from my phone and iPad, but can not send from laptop to printer.  My laptop is connected to our wi-fi network and matches the same network as our printer.  My laptop shows my printer installed and set as "default", but does not print anything!

I have tried all of the online troubleshooting steps multiple times.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer at least 3 times. I have been able to install the printer on a second laptop, but not the main one I use.  The printer works fine at printing jobs from all other devices so it seems to be a communication problem between the laptop and printer.  What am I missing?!

Please restart your Computer and Printer. Once done, follow these steps:

Create a TCP IP port

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)

2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and left-click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.

3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.

4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor: https://hp.care/2JyaC93

If the issue persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Thank you for your response.  I followed all suggested troubleshooting, including a root uninstall/reinstall.  These were all tried before with no success.  I do get the following information in the installing process:

Installation Error:

Call to DriverPackageUninstall returned error5 for package 'C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpwia_en5660.inf_amd64_38fdf38e725f161f\hpwia_5660.inf': A caller of DriverPackageInstall must be a member of the Administrators group to install a driver package.

Again, my Settings>Devices>Printers> shows HP Envy 5660 series (Network) as my default printer.  However, when I try to print, nothing happens.  When I select prrint in the menu, the HP envy 5660 printer shows "connecting to printer" and then a green check with "ready'. When I choose the Print button the "green bar" on the bottom of my screen fills in to indicate printing, but then there is also a red X.  The printer icon on the task bar will show "0 documents pending".

I am so very frustrated!!!
