Hello.
I have a problem with my wifi signal.
I upgrade my Windows 8 to windows 10, and everything was fine. A month ago the signal of my wifi card is VERY weak, I returned to a house that I had very good cwifi conection and now I am 3 meters of the router and the signal is 35%. I go to the bed and I don´t have any wireless signal.
I tried everything.
I restore my notebook to factory mode, and when It sterted I could see that the wifi card workes perfect, It detected like 10 signals and I had very good wifi conection. After update the system the problem started again.
I tried to install an old driver, but it is difficult, because the system alone install the driver, I stop the option to install alone, but nothing.
Can anybody give me a hand with this problem?
Thanks.

Hi @Damián,
Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues with WiFi not working on your HP notebook. Don't worry as I have few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Do you experience frequent wireless disconnects or has it stopped working completely?
Have you updated the bios and the wifi drivers?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
To begin troubleshooting the issue, please try the steps in this HP document: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 10)
These steps should be enough to resolve the issue. It covers all of the basics, which are capable of resolving the issue if the cause is something simple.
If that doesn't help, you can try a manual reinstall of the wireless adapter driver. Since the adapter is having an issue, this will determine whether or not it is a driver conflict, or something else:
1. Go into Device Manager, then Network adapters.
2. Right-click on the wireless driver, and select "Uninstall".
3. Restart the computer. This will force the driver to reinstall itself.
If it still doesn't help, it is either a hardware or software-related issue. To determine this, I would like you to reinstall the operating system. It will clear up any software conflicts and allow you to start fresh.
First, please ensure you backup your files. Here is information on how to do this: HP PCs - Backing Up Your Files (Windows 10, 😎
Once this is done, it is safe to reinstall the operating system:
Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7, 8 & 10)
If you've already reinstalled the windows using the above steps, skip the step and run a hardware test:
Contact HP with the test results for further assistance

Hello!
It started to happen 1 month ago.
I did everything.
I update the bios, the drivers, I run the troubleshooting, everything. I restarted the system, and this is the thing because when I reinstalled windows 10 the first 5 minutes the wifi card works perfect! It recongnize a lot of wifi networks, but when the system update to the driver, it started again.
Now I tried everything that I could and now I am trying to install old drivers, I looked for the drivers in intel, for this wifi card and trying, some works better than others, but if I update to the driver that HP tell me it work very weak.
I saw of the recomendations that you give I have this difference.
First is the model, the second my computer.

Hi @Damián,
As I understand you have already followed the steps suggested and still having the issue, a good workaround is to procure a wifi USB dongle and plug it to one of the USB ports. Then connect to the router with it. It is extremely cost effective and economical. You could get it for a song from a local Best Buy or Staples location or order one online at Amazon or Ebay.
If you want you can contact our HP phone support for available service related options.

It appears that we are at the mercy of Microsoft and automatic updates. I went through the same issue with the AC8265 card. The original drivers that came with the laptop worked great. As soon as I booted it up, windows pushed an update and installed a different driver that did not work well with the card. Many attempts to correct this problem did no good. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers did no good. Microsoft will just reinstall thier own drivers. I would assume that these drivers would come from Intel. I guess working with Intel and HP made them aware of the issues and there was a new driver installed recently that made the WiFi card now work like it should. It's all about the drivers that are being pushed by Microsoft. That's my conclusion.

Hello!
Yes, the same problem, I called HP support and we are tryind to solve it. I tried with the old drivers, but it seems that it can´t resolve the problem. The same as you, when I reinstall windows 10 it worked ok with the old driver, but I installed it again and it doesn´t work, may be another things is it, I don´t know, but I tried not only the oldest driver, I tried with all the drivers that I found and nothing.
Tomorrow I called again to the HP support and we keep going.
I will post the progress.
Thanks.
