Microsoft Windows 11

My WiFi adapter frequently stops working abruptly after some time. On occasion, I manage to resolve the issue by resetting the adapter, but more often, the WiFi option completely disappears, forcing me to power flush my PC.

Despite attempting to download an updated WiFi driver from the HP website, I encountered obstacles as the site lacks support for Windows 11 OS on my PC.image.png

Hi @Dagarhaa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems with the Wi-Fi adapter on your HP Notebook 15. Wi-Fi issues can be frustrating, but there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to try and resolve the problem. Here are some common solutions.

  • Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary connectivity issues.
  • Check Wi-Fi settings: Ensure that your Wi-Fi is turned on. On most laptops, there's a physical switch or a key combination (usually involving the "Fn" key and one of the function keys) to toggle Wi-Fi.
  • Update Wi-Fi drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause Wi-Fi problems. Go to HP's official website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest Wi-Fi drivers. Install them and see if it improves the situation.
  • Restart the Wi-Fi router: Turn off your Wi-Fi router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can help clear any temporary issues with the router.
  • Check Wi-Fi signal strength: Ensure that you're within range of the Wi-Fi router and that there are no physical obstructions hindering the signal.
  • Forget and reconnect to the network: In your laptop's Wi-Fi settings, forget the network you're trying to connect to, and then reconnect to it. Sometimes, this can help resolve authentication or configuration issues.
  • Disable and re-enable the Wi-Fi adapter: Right-click on the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of the screen), select "Open Network & Internet settings," then click on "Change adapter options." Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and choose "Disable." After a few seconds, right-click again and select "Enable."
  • Run the Network Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in Network Troubleshooter that can help identify and fix common network issues. Go to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Status" > "Network Troubleshooter."
  • Check for interference: Other electronic devices or nearby networks can sometimes interfere with your Wi-Fi signal. Try moving closer to the router or away from potential sources of interference.
  • Reset network settings: If none of the above solutions work, you can try resetting your network settings to default. Go to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Status" > "Network reset" > "Reset now." This will remove all network adapters and set your network settings back to their defaults. Note that you'll need to set up your Wi-Fi connection again after doing this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
