Hi, Im using HP Pavilion and I wanted to connect it to multiple monitors via the docking station. But when I connect USB C from the station to the computer, nothing happens. Well computer only tries to send a sound via a station and that's it.
I have another laptop and it is working flawlessly with the station so it is not an issue of connection.
Yes, I have updated all that is on this computer.

@shikapa2, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It seems like you are experiencing issues with connecting multiple monitors to your HP Pavilion via a docking station. Here are some troubleshooting steps and recommendations:
Ensure Compatibility:
- Make sure your HP Pavilion supports multifunction USB Type-C (which must support video, charging, and data) or USB Type-C Thunderbolt™-enabled ports. Not all USB Type-C ports support these functions.
Check Drivers:
- Confirm that all relevant drivers are installed on your HP Pavilion. Sometimes, the drivers do not install automatically. You can manually download the latest drivers from HP Support.
Connect to AC Power:
- Ensure that the docking station is properly connected to an AC power source using the docking station power cord.
Prevent Sleep or Hibernation:
- Make sure the HP Pavilion does not initiate Sleep or Hibernation when it is closed.
- Open the Control Panel and select the Power Options page.
- Click "Choose what closing the lid does". Click "Do nothing", and then click "OK".
- Under "Plugged in", select "Do nothing", and then click "Save changes".
Configure Display Settings:
- Use Windows to configure the display of the monitor attached to the docking station:
- Type "Control Panel" in the taskbar search box, and then select "Control Panel". Select "Appearance and Personalization".
- To set the external monitor as the primary monitor, select "Second screen only".
- To set the external monitor as an extension of the primary monitor, select "Extend".
- To set the external monitor as a copy of the primary monitor, select "Duplicate".
- You can also access display settings by pressing the Windows key + P.
Check Docking Station Connections:
- Ensure the docking station is properly connected to the HP Pavilion using the included USB Type-C cable.
- Verify if the docking station ports or jacks are properly connected.
Reset USB Ports:
- If the USB ports on the docking station are disabled due to non-compliant devices:
- Disconnect the device that disabled the port.
- Disconnect the power cord from the docking station, and then reconnect it or disconnect the docking station from the computer and then reconnect it.
Verify Device Recognition:
- Ensure that I/O devices connected through the dock are recognized by the Windows Device Manager.
I hope this helps.
