Your first post said you were using Windows 8 64bit.

The page I posted is for Windows 8 64bit.

The page you posted is for Windows 8.1 64bit.

But as I mentioned in an earlier post the fact that NO wireless adapter shows in device manager suggests a possible/likely hardware failure.

I know that HP consumer BIOS setups don't typically give a lot of options and aren't very intuitive.

The wifi card BIOS settings on my HP notebook are: Advanced>Device Settings>Built in Device Options

But I'm sure your options are different. You'll just have to carefully check each menu option.

Unfortunately, I believe your internal wifi adapter has died. :Crying:

The Microsoft Community says that Windows Defender will detect and remove Trojan: Win32/Dynamer!ac but you may have to use Windows Defender Offline to completely remove it.

OK, this is why so frustrating. I looked up your link on Windows Defender Offline instructions.

If the Settings are supposed to be the Windows 8.1 Settings (as if such tremendous difference from 8 to 8.1), there is nothing of the sort there:

and if the Windows Defender Settings, same thing: There is no such sequence of possible instructions.

OK, so your conclusion is a dead device inside. So my next step is opening to find out.

I think I know why my BIOS has extremely limited settings. It is inSydeH2O Rev. 3.7. There are no advanced settings. I can't imagine for the life of me why HP did such nonsense. From what I read, you can't unblock it from any HP options. The only solution I see significantly slows down your machine.
