Probook 450 G1
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi guys,

Looking to upgrade the wifi on my computer because it isnt very fast and I need pretty good range for my laptop. I dont know very much about computers, so Im not sure what to get and most cards I have looked at on ebay etc say that they do not work for hp computers (and lenovo).

What is the very best I can put in my computer, with a max budget of 150 dollars.

Thank you for your time!!

You're very welcome.

Yes, that card will work on the 470 G1 too.

See the service manual below, chapter 3, page 21, item 7 for the antenna kit part number.

Looks like you can only order a complete set, not just one.

You will have to take the entire notebook apart, including the display panel in order to install the second antenna.

See chapters 5 and 6 for all the R & R procedures (wlan module, antenna replacement).

Me?  I'd be buying an external USB wireless AC adapter before I went through all that work!

Hi:

If your notebook has two antennas currently connected to the wifi card in there now...

I recommend one of these two...they both have W7, W8.1, and W10 driver support as well from Intel.

If you have or plan to get an AC router...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0                 HP Part #710661-001

If you only have a dual band wireless N router and don't plan on replacing it anytime soon...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi + BT4.0    HP Part # 717381-001

Either card is readily available on Amazon or eBay.

Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Not sure how i missed it.. was being dumb sorry, but I actually have the 470 G1 Probook. I bought the 710661-001 one, the Ac 7260 above, will it still work ??

Wifi card details:

Intel Dual band Wireless Ac - 7260

SPS: 710661 - 001

Model: 7260HMW

If not what is the next best thing to use?

I'd also like to add another antenna, as I currently only have one.. Any idea where and what to get?

Thanks heaps for the help!!
