Product: HP EliteBook 840 G5 Notebook PC

Evidently, if you leave your laptop plugged into the docking station to the point that the laptop falls asleep, it will lose its hard-wired ethernet internet connection and the only remedy is to reboot the laptop. I have tried unplugging the USB-C wire that goes to the docking station and plugging it back and still nothing. I am still in the process of testing whether or not disabling sleep while the laptop is plugged in will fix it (I suspect it will) but a more inclusive solution would be ideal. 

 

OS:  Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2

 

Drivers: Ran the HP Support Assistant software and installed all recommended drivers.
