RTL 8723be wireless driver needed for Mint 18.3

Good Day,

Can some one please help as I am trying to find a linux wireless driver for Linux Mint !8.2 or Robolinux .

The card is a RTL8723BE wireless card.

I have searched the net and cannot find a linux driver that can be downloaded and installed on any linux distro.

This model of wireless card seems to be not well supported.

Comments and any advice will be much appreciated.

These are older distros than you have, but the advice should still work for you. Linux Mint is also a debian distro so generally Ubuntu information is valid.

sudo apt install rtl8723*

gives

so sudo apt install rtl8723be

Currently running a Live Linux Mint 18:03, and like Lubuntu 17:10, it loads the driver and offers to connect to a WiFi as soon as the desktop screen appears.

I pick my WiFi whiffy_one name and password whiffy_too and I am connected.

So your distro source must be somewhat unusual, as HUFFER so rightly states it should not be difficult, others have done it.
