Do go through the first post, as I have updated with the steps to make RTL8723DE Bluetooth to work. IF yours is RTL8723DE and the log shows rtl8723be firmware is wrongly loaded, it can be fixed by copying rtl8723d* firmware to the /lib/firmware/<relevant directory>. You can download rtl8723d firmware using git and copy to the directory. That will be enough to enable Bluetooth.

Same problem with HP 15-cc510cf on 16.04 LTS

 

I have upgrade kernal by 4.17 rc3 but 4.13.0-45-generic is always display

Wifi work for me  with kernel 4.16.0-041600-generic:

 

  1. git clone https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new.git

Checkout to the extended branch

  1. git checkout extended

Enter to the cloned folder

  1. cd rtlwifi_new

Start installation

  1. sudo make install
  2. sudo modprobe -r rtl8723de
  3. sudo modprobe rtl8723de
  4.  sudo reboot

HELLO

I just did all you suggested in your post above but still have no wireless connection.

I have just bought a hp notebook and the wireless option does not work

It is shown on Network but does not go on.

What could I do??

I just test it with ubuntu 18.04 lts on my HP 15-cc510nf

 

1)Update Kernel to 4.17.3-041703-generic (4.17-rc3) with beautifull "Ukuu kernel" application

https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/ubuntu_kernel_upgrade_utility

 

And With good information to

 

2) Install  :

:~$ sudo apt update && sudo apt install git dkms
:~$ cd Downloads

:~$ git clone -b extended --single-branch https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new.git
unofficial

:~$ cd rtlwifi_new
:~/Downloads/rtlwifi_new$ make 
:~/Downloads/rtlwifi_new$ sudo make install

 and to finish for a best signal :

sudo /bin/sh -c 'echo "options rtl8723de ant_sel=2" >> /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723de.conf'

 

Now WIFI+Bluetooth work perfectly, thanks for your goods information !!

thanks a lot,

my wifi signal showing a good gain.

 

I use your command to switch the antenna into = 2 and then reboot my hp laptop, and viola... the wifi gain signal full..

my kernel version is

[ 19.722138] rtl8723be: Using firmware rtlwifi/rtl8723befw_36.bin
[ 21.335662] rtl8723be 0000:03:00.0 wlo1: renamed from wlan0
$

 

But issue is with my wifi too not just bluetooth. I am stucked as wifi only works when i am closer to router and upgraded ubuntu to 18.04 version.

 

Please guide and help.
