Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bluetooth mouse (Microsoft Sculpt) just stopped working.  Device check shows bluetooth is on and the mouse is paired but the pointer is frozen in the middle of the screen.  I tried to remove the device but after a few seconds I got device removal failed and and then returned to show the mouse as paired.  I opened Device Manager checked for driver updates - no help.  Checking properties on all the items under bluetooth all reported working properly except the adapter, which shows that it cannot start (code 10).  I uninstalled all to the drivers and downloaded the latest but the condition remains  Also, Windows "troubleshoot" was no help.

You need to go to Microsoft and asking for driver. I did post many times after having many problems with BT mice:

  • my Dell mice only work properly with my Dell machines,
  • my MS mice only work properly with my Surface machines

...

At the end, I bought Logitech mice and they work with my Dell, HP, and MS Surface machines. Please don't ask me why. That's life.

Regards.
