Hi @Hajo_S

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

It looks like you're trying to update the Realtek RTL8822CE WiFi driver using a CAB file from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Since CAB files require manual extraction, here’s a quick guide to installing the driver:

Steps to Install a Driver from a CAB File

  1. Download the CAB File

    • Get the latest driver from Microsoft Update Catalog (make sure it's the correct version for your system).
    • Save it to a known location on your PC.
  2. Extract the CAB File

    • Open Command Prompt (Admin) by searching for cmd and right-clicking to run as administrator.
    • Use the following command to extract the CAB file (replace C:\Path\To\CAB with the actual location):
      expand -f:* "C:\Path\To\CAB" "C:\Path\To\ExtractedFolder"

  3. Install the Driver via Device Manager

    • Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
    • Locate Network AdaptersRealtek RTL8822CE.
    • Right-click Update driverBrowse my computer for drivers.
    • Select the extracted folder containing the driver files and follow the installation process.
  4. Restart Your PC

    • Once installed, restart your laptop to ensure the new driver loads correctly.

Let me know if you need further clarification!
