Hi,
I have an HP Pavilion gaming laptop 15 that has developed issues with the wifi suddenly dropping out randomly. It often runs OK for several hours then suddenly disconnects. This has only been happening roughly for the last month and can confirm this is the only laptop that does it. Every other device in the home works fine even when this device disconnects. The only way I can reconnect to the wifi when this happens is to either restart the laptop or disable and enable the Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac pcie adapter driver. I have updated the driver to the latest version ( Paul_Tikkanen posted a link to this driver in one of the posts on here) but it is still happening. The modem is only a short distance away from the laptop.
I noticed there are quite a few similar posts for the same laptop and/or wifi adapter driver on this site? One post recommended testing the driver and posted a link to a video on how to do so but the link no longer works.
This video was also helpful but as I said it still dropped out. Last night I had been live streaming for around 3 hours and it suddenly disconnected and as mentioned above my other laptop and phone were still connected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks

If the newer driver didn't help any, and you want to replace the card, I recommend either of these two upgrades:
Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part # M27269-005
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part #L35282-005
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure:
Before installing the new card, I recommend that you first go into the device manager and uninstall both the Realtek Wi-Fi adapter and driver and the Realtek Bluetooth driver.
Then you can shut down, unplug the PC and follow the procedures to install the new card.
Windows should install the drivers for the card automatically, or you can download the latest ones from the Intel website.

Hi:
Since I don't know what driver version you found that I posted (I have posted many), this is the latest one currently available:
2024.10.228.7 09/14/2023
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149501-150000/sp149656.exe
Unfortunately, that would be the only information I can provide.
Those cards are simply no good, and most folks have continuous issues with them.

Thanks for the prompt reply Paul.
The link you had posted is below
2024.10.228.1 01/31/2023
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp144501-145000/sp144871.exe
Looks to be the link you have just responded with is the most recent so will try that one.
Thanks also for the update on the cards being no good. Is there one that I should look to replace it with?
I did see a post where someone mentioned replacing the Realtek with a Qualcomm WiFi card. Although not sure which model?

You're very welcome.
Can you post the full model number or product number of your notebook, so I can see what your options are?
