I'm having a real issue with getting the Realtek USB GbE Family Controller driver installed. 

 

I have attempted the manual install of the driver from the HP website and this still doesn't display in device manager:

This driver is required for the a docking station which has the ethernet cable plugged into that. 

 

Ethernet works fine directly plugged into the machine and the dock works correctly with the ethernet plugged in on x2 other laptops and the USB GbE shows in adapter settings under control panel. 

 

Please help!

Resolved after enabling WLAN/LAN auto switching service in the HP Bios under 'Built In Device Options'

I don't understand, I see in the image that the controller is there.

Use HPIA to update the drivers

Hi, 

Thanks for getting back to me. 

The screenshot is missing the Realtek USB driver for docks as shown on a working laptop below:

This driver allows docks to work.

I have tried installing the driver manually but still display.
