I own an HP gaming laptop, model 15-dk1056wm. My main boot drive ( C ) is 256g SSD and boots Windows 11. I added a second 2tb SSD for storage.
I divided the 2tb SSD into two logical drives: D (for storage) and E. I have installed a second OS (Win 8.1) on the logical drive E for dual boot capability.
Everything works fine but when I boot to Win 8.1, my only possibility for connecting to the internet is through an Ethernet cable – Win 8.1 doesn’t recognize or find my wireless card. I’ve gone through recovery / refresh but no luck.
How can I get Win 8.1 to find or recognize my wireless card (I believe it’s a Realtek RTL8822CE 802 11ac PCIe Adapter). Everything works as it should when booting to Windows 11 - this problem only occurs when I boot to Win 8.1.
Thank you.

Hi:
Unfortunately, that will not be possible.
Realtek did not develop any W8.1 drivers for the Realtek RTL8822CE wifi adapter.
They only made them for the older Realtek RTL8822BE hardware version.
You will need to continue to connect via ethernet on the W8.1 installation, or use a USB wifi adapter.
