PC sporadically disconnects from wi fi. When this happens, I cannot get the Settings page to work either. If I go to the Device Manager, all the tabs for the Realtek appear normal except it shows that no drivers are installed. The drivers tab shows drivers. When I restart the PC, it takes a long time and then I get the blue error screen that says power driver failure and then the computer restarts normally with wi fi functioning. Card is Realtek RTL8822CE PCIE. HP help says it is a software issue and will not help me unless I subscribe to Smart Friend or pay a one-time fee

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if updating the wifi driver to a newer version that is not on your notebook's support page...

Hello!
I recently received a new HP Pavilion laptop on March 10, 2022. Immediately the WiFi connection was dropping. I suffered with this and being on the phone with HP Support for over a month. Finally one morning I decided to go throw every setting on the Hardware Properties. I changed the Band Preference, steps are below. Now it's not dropping anymore and only if my internet service is slow (I have AT&T : / ) do I have WiFi issues.
Steps:
Right click on windows icon in bottom left of computer display.
Select Device Manager. A new window opens.
Expand Network Adapters list. Double click on "Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter" A new window opens.
Select Advance Tab.
Under Property, select "Preferred Band"
In the Value list, select "1. No Preference"
I believe this works because with the RealTek Network Adapter band set to 3. 5G First, then all it would look for or accept was 5G, not any other band. With the band set to No Preference, it uses whatever band is available.
It's a simple solution and it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for others. Good Luck!
