Windows 10 Education, 22H2. Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac is what I currently use in my HP laptop. However, there is no internet connection when connected to our Wi-Fi router. I cannot browse even though my device is connected. I did every troubleshooting that I know, but nothing helped. I also tried installing a new Wi-Fi wireless adapter which is Intel. But I don't know how to install in correctly. Please send help.

Troubleshooting Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac Wireless Connection:

  1. Update Drivers:

    • Use Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to check for any available updates for your wireless adapter drivers. Windows Update can be accessed via Settings > Update & Security, and HP Support Assistant can be launched from the Start Menu under HP Help and Support. Follow the instructions to install any updates that might solve your connectivity issue.
  2. Network Troubleshooter:

    • Run the built-in Windows Network Troubleshooter by navigating to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, then click on Internet Connections and run the troubleshooter to see if it resolves your issue.
  3. Device Manager:

    • Open Device Manager, locate your Realtek wireless adapter under Network Adapters, right-click on it and select Update Driver. Choose 'Search automatically for updated driver software' to ensure you have the latest drivers.
  4. Check Wireless Settings:

    • Ensure your Wi-Fi settings align with your network. You might need to access Device Manager and review the adapter properties to confirm proper configuration.

Installing a New Intel Wireless Adapter:

  1. Install the Hardware:

    • If your laptop has hardware support for changing the wireless adapter, ensure that it is compatible and that you have physically installed it following the specific instructions provided by HP or Intel.
  2. Install the Drivers:

    • Use HP Support Assistant or download drivers directly from Intel’s website for your specific Intel wireless adapter model.
  3. Driver Installation Steps:

    • After obtaining the correct drivers, open Device Manager, locate your existing Realtek adapter and uninstall it. Then, install the Intel adapter's drivers following either instructions from the downloaded driver package or using Device Manager by selecting 'Add device'.
  4. Check Connections:

    • Confirm the new adapter is listed correctly under Network Adapters in Device Manager, and test Wi-Fi connectivity with your router.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
