Ran Windows 11 update and wifi adapter disappeared. I have tried everything I could find here at HP.com and the internet. Nothing is working. I have resorted to purchasing a TP Link usb adapter that will only run at 10-20 mbps. Can I just buy an upgraded adapter for the laptop and if so - could someone please recommend something specific? Thank you!

Hi:
I see from the product specs that your notebook comes with the dreaded Realtek RTL8822BE wifi adapter.
HP Pavilion 14-ce1058wm Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try this model Intel Wi-Fi adapter.
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part number L35282-005.
You can find this model wifi adapter on eBay.
Search by the HP part number, not the model of the Wi-Fi adapter.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.
Be very careful when removing the thin and delicate antenna wires from the Realtek card.
You stand a fairly good chance of breaking off the antenna terminals from the card and getting them stuck in the antenna wire connectors if you are not.
Removing the Wi-Fi card in this video would be similar to what you need to do, except you need to remove two antenna wires.
