HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer

I have turned off the printer, unplugged it, turned off my computer(s) and rebooted, but the blue light is still flashing and the choice for this printer never appears to allow connection to my laptop.

That blinking blue light is a clear signal that your HP Envy Inspire 7955e is either not connected to your Wi-Fi network or is actively searching for one . Since rebooting hasn't resolved it, let's systematically walk through the steps to get it connected. This model usually requires the HP Smart app for the initial setup, but we can also try reconnecting it directly.

Are you using  the HP Smart App?  This model is designed to be set up using the HP Smart app. It's often required for the printer to be fully recognized by your computer. You can download and Install the HP Smart app on your computer or a mobile device .

Prepare the Printer: Ensure the printer is on and the blue light is blinking. Set Up: Open the app, sign in, and choose the option to "Set up a new printer." The app should guide you through detecting the printer and connecting it to your Wi-Fi network . Make sure your computer's Wi-Fi is on and you are not connected to a VPN during this process.

Manually Reconnect the Printer via Wi-Fi. If the HP Smart app isn't working, you can attempt to reconnect the printer directly using its control panel.

Access Network Settings: On the printer's touchscreen, locate the gear (⚙️) icon for Setup. You may need to swipe down from the top of the screen to find it .

Find Wireless Setup: Navigate to Network Setup and look for Wireless Settings or a Wireless Setup Wizard .

Select Your Network: The printer will scan for available networks. Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter your password . If you can't find these options, the menu may have changed; try looking for a "Restore Network Defaults" option first to clear any old settings, then look for the Setup Wizard again.

Let me know how it goes with the HP Smart app or the manual connection process! If you get stuck at a specific step, we can troubleshoot further. 👍
