my HP Pavilion 15-eg2373cl constantly dropping bluetooth - how do I fix this?

Try updating the Bluetooth driver first through HP's website for your Pavilion 15-eg2373cl. You can also open Device Manager, find your Bluetooth adapter under Bluetooth, right-click it, and select Uninstall device. Then restart your laptop so Windows can reinstall the driver. If it keeps disconnecting, check Windows Update for any optional driver updates as well.
