15-an001la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have Hp-15-an001la laptop which has Intel i5 6200U processor and Realtek RTL8723BE Wi-Fi Adapter which has single antenna on motherboard and only 802.11 b/g/n which has very low range of 2.4ghz with 300 mbps.

My question is I am looking to update my wifi card to dual band card like :

Intel 9260

Is this card suitable for my laptop?

Thanks

Hi:

The 9260 needs two antenna cables to work unless you are willing to completely disassemble the notebook including the display panel area to run a second antenna cable.

I think the easiest internal swap to an AC card would be to get this one...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card has the same throughput as the 8723BE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.

If you decide to get the 9260 instead and add a second antenna, make sure that you get the model that is Non vPro.

Is any chance to let the second antena loose where is the motherboard?

You can try that, but just make sure that no metal parts of the antenna touch the motherboard.

There will be a fairly large metal transceiver on the end that is supposed to go into the display bezel.
