Thank you for the excellent response. Since my post I've begun to wonder whether the original Wi-Fi adapter is actually going bad, or whether a Win 10 update may be the culpret. Everything worked fine for probably a year and a half after upgrading to Win 10, but a few months ago I began losing connectivity occasionally, and running the Wireless Assistant almost always resultins in "Resetting the Wi-Fi Adapter." Ocassionally WA it won't find the problem and I have to restart, and that always restores connectivity. When checking for the driver it always says I have the lastest driver for the Intel 1000N. Could it be that the original adapter is no longer supported in Win 10 after an update? If that's the case, I guess it would need to be replaced anyway. Thanks again.

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.
It may also help to reset the winsock catalogue:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.
Let me know how it goes.
Good day! Take care 🙂
Cheers!
