HP ENVY - 17-u110nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey Ive had issues with this laptop the last week attempting to redownload the wifi network adapter to no success. I then went through the process of trying to system restore which again didnt work and even tried to reinstall Windows but again no success.
I was then stuck in the Automatic Repair Loop and decided to give up and choose to go through the Recovery Manager to restore the laptop to factory settings. I choose to delete all files but again the laptop showed it was unsuccessful in resetting the laptop. What can I do to just start this laptop from scratch?

Hi @ Lasalle99,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble restoring your HP ENVY laptop to factory settings, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue. Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot:

1. Backup Important Data:

Before proceeding with any troubleshooting steps, it's essential to back up any important data you have on your laptop. If you're unable to access the operating system, you might need to remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer using an external enclosure or adapter to retrieve your data.

2. Ensure Adequate Power:

Make sure your laptop is connected to a reliable power source to prevent any interruptions during the recovery process.

3. Perform a Hard Reset:

  1. Shut down your laptop.
  2. Disconnect all external devices and peripherals.
  3. Unplug the power adapter.
  4. Remove the laptop battery (if removable).
  5. Press and hold the Power button for at least 15 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the battery (if removed) and plug in the power adapter.
  7. Turn on your laptop and check if the issue persists.

4. Access Advanced Startup Options:

  1. Turn on your laptop.
  2. Continuously press the Esc key until the startup menu appears.
  3. Press the F11 key to enter the System Recovery menu.

5. Use HP Recovery Manager:

  1. In the System Recovery menu, choose Troubleshoot.
  2. Select HP Recovery Manager.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your laptop to factory settings.

6. Use HP Cloud Recovery:

HP provides a Cloud Recovery tool that allows you to download and create a recovery image for your HP laptop. This can be particularly useful if the recovery partition on your laptop is corrupted. You can find the tool on the HP website.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
