Recently I have discovered the sim card slot under the battery and I have inserted a valid and running sim card of mine in it. But my laptop neither recognizes it nor showing any cellular options. I have searched in the web for any kind of drivers moreover installed some but maybe they were not for my model. So please help me running cellular in my laptop.

Hi:
Every HP Elitebook 840 G2 notebook has a SIM card slot.
What 90% of them don't come with is the optional and expensive WWAN network adapter that connects to the cellular tower.
Go to the device manager.
Click to expand the Network adapters device manager category.
In order for the SIM card to work, you must see one of these supported WWAN cards listed under the Network Adapters device manager category.
