Sleekbook 14-b180la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello there, I'm trying to upgrade my wifi card. I was wondering if there is a whitelist for my sleekbook 14-b180la and if there is a whitelist, what are my options; can I get an upgraded bios without the whitelist, can you tell me of a safe website with safe bios's that lack the whitelist, etc?
I've tried to look at service manuals for my laptop model but was unsuccesful at doing so
Currently have the Atheros QCA9565 adapter

I'm pretty good at messing with stuff/ tech-savvy compared to most people, but I need a push in the right direction/I don't want to brick my laptop.

I'm trying to upgrade to an AC intel 7260 or Intel 3160; are these compatible?

i think i've found it on this link, if the link is correct i now have more doubts

first: if it is, why the card i've got bundled in doesn't appear on the list? furthermore, there's only 802.11 b/g/n cards, no AC card for sleekbook b1xx then?, will then be a bios blockage if i choose an ac card?

second: the guide says nothing about ssd drives, just a maximum 1tb capacity but for 5400 hdd drives, if i swap the hdd for an ssd card in the future there would be a problem?

Hi:

I do not believe that model has a BIOS whitelist.

The 15-bxxx model series doesn't.

I would recommend that you install this model wifi adapter...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

They are for sale on Amazon or ebay.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

A 2.5" SSD should work with no problem.
