I have a pair of brand new Sony WH-CH720N headphones that won't connect to my HP Victus laptop. They don't show up in the add device options no matter how many times I try to turn them off and turn them on again. I also went to settings and made sure that "bluetooth devices can find this laptop". Can anyone help with this?

Hi @ab1gale,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Certainly! Bluetooth connectivity issues can be frustrating, but let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help you connect your Sony WH-CH720N headphones to your HP Victus laptop.
Check Bluetooth Status:
- Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your HP Victus laptop. You can usually do this by going to the system tray, finding the Bluetooth icon, and making sure it's turned on. If it's not there, check your laptop's settings or control panel for Bluetooth options.
Check Headphones:
- Make sure your Sony WH-CH720N headphones are in pairing mode. Usually, this involves turning them off, then turning them back on while holding down the power button until you see a blinking LED light, indicating that they are ready to pair.
Visibility Setting:
- On your laptop, go to Bluetooth settings and make sure that the visibility or discoverability option is enabled. This is the setting that allows other devices to see your laptop.
Remove Existing Pairings:
- If your headphones were previously paired with another device, make sure they are unpaired from that device. Sometimes devices remember previous connections and may not accept new ones until the old pairing is cleared.
Update Bluetooth Drivers:
- Ensure that your laptop's Bluetooth drivers are up to date. You can check for updates in the device manager. Right-click on the Start button, select "Device Manager," find the Bluetooth section, right-click on your Bluetooth device, and choose "Update driver."
Reboot Both Devices:
- Sometimes a simple restart can solve connectivity issues. Turn off both your laptop and headphones, then turn them back on and attempt to pair again.
Try Another Device:
- If possible, try connecting your headphones to another Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone or tablet) to ensure that the headphones are working correctly.
Factory Reset Headphones:
- Refer to your headphone's user manual to perform a factory reset. This will clear any existing pairings and set the headphones back to their default settings.
By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue preventing your Sony WH-CH720N headphones from connecting to your HP Victus laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
