Hi Jurgen,

I was able to get Intel's newest wifi driver 21.50.1.1 to reliably fail with an error message on my machine.  I posted the steps on a new thread called "Spectre wifi bug repro steps".  I put it on a new thread because this thread is already marked as solved, but the solutions here unfortunately didn't work for me.

Hi all,

I solved my problem by changing the security mode on my wireless router from "WEP" to "WPA or WPA2".  More info on the "Spectre wifi bug repro steps" thread.

Thanks a lot KeepITcoolyou helped me to solve my slow Wi-Fi speed, mostly upload speed. After uninstalling HP Command Center and HP Connection Optimizer I finally regained my normal Wi-Fi speed. Thanks again

I found a solution that involved splitting my routers combined SSID for 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Instead creating separate SSID's for each frequency.

The reason for the change was the excessive interference from neighbours WIFI on the 2.4 band with much less interference on the 5GHz band. When dynamically switching between the 2 bands origninally, the modem sometimes hand trouble reconnecting after sleeping. Once the bands were separated, reconnection was instant and the icon for the internet connection remained invisible.

My modem was supplied by Bell Canada (Home Hub 3000). Since I did not have Eero pods extending my coverage, it was possible to make the split.

My WIFI speeds are now incredible

PS: My Google minis now work much better as well.

Hope this helps some of you deal with these frustrating WIFI problems. It may not be a problem with Intel or HP. Instead it may be a problem with routers.
