Hi @US1950,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing Wi-Fi connection issues with your HP laptop. There could be several reasons for this problem, but I'll provide you with some general troubleshooting steps that may help resolve the issue.

  • Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary glitches and restore your Wi-Fi connection.
  • Check Wi-Fi signal strength: Make sure your laptop is within the range of your Wi-Fi router and the signal strength is strong enough. If you're too far away from the router or there are physical obstructions, it can cause connection problems.
  • Update Wi-Fi drivers: Outdated or incompatible Wi-Fi drivers can cause connectivity issues. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest Wi-Fi drivers for your specific laptop model.
  • Disable power saving mode: Some laptops have power-saving features that can turn off the Wi-Fi adapter to conserve battery. Check your laptop's power settings and ensure that the Wi-Fi adapter is not set to power off.
  • Forget and reconnect to the network: In your laptop's Wi-Fi settings, forget the network you're having trouble with, and then reconnect to it. This can help establish a fresh connection.
  • Disable antivirus/firewall temporarily: Occasionally, antivirus software or firewall settings can interfere with the Wi-Fi connection. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue. Remember to re-enable them after testing.
  • Reset network settings: Resetting your network settings can often resolve connectivity issues. Open the Network and Internet settings on your laptop, and look for an option to reset network settings. This will remove any saved Wi-Fi networks, so you'll need to reconnect to them.
  • Test with a different network: If possible, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network (e.g., a public network or a friend's network) to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is specific to your laptop or related to your home network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
