Hi @Schlo21,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Notebook is stuck in airplane mode and the toggle to turn it off is grayed out, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve software glitches. Turn off your laptop and then turn it back on.
Use the physical wireless switch: Some laptops have a physical switch to enable or disable wireless functionality. Check your laptop for a physical switch and make sure it is in the correct position. It's usually located on the sides of the laptop.
Check for keyboard shortcuts: Some laptops have keyboard shortcuts to toggle airplane mode. Look for a key with an airplane symbol or check your laptop's user manual for the correct key combination. Typically, it involves pressing the "Fn" key along with the key that has the airplane symbol.
Update Wireless Drivers: Outdated or corrupted wireless drivers can cause connectivity issues. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download the latest wireless drivers. Install them and see if it resolves the problem.
Windows Troubleshooter: Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter to diagnose and fix network-related issues. Right-click on the network icon in the system tray, select "Troubleshoot problems," and follow the on-screen instructions.
Device Manager: Open Device Manager, locate the network adapter, right-click on it, and choose "Update driver." Follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver.
Check BIOS/UEFI settings: Access the BIOS or UEFI settings during the laptop's startup (usually by pressing a key like F2 or DEL). Ensure that the wireless network functionality is enabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings.
Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset. This will reset all network-related settings, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. After the reset, restart your laptop and check if the issue is resolved.
System Restore: If the problem started recently, you can perform a system restore to revert your system to a previous state where the airplane mode was not an issue. Be aware that this will undo any changes made after the chosen restore point.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
