Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there

I have a HP Envy 13 AHO laptop.  Usually, all is nice a quiet whilst working.  For the last month or so, the CPU is on non stop.  I've noticed System Interrupts at 100%.  There's also WHEA-Logger events - Event 17.  A Warning that a PCI Corrected error has occurred.  It seems like a driver issues after an update but can't seem to track it down !!

Cheers

Hi @Nico-

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the system error.

Please try these steps to update your computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Download and install the BIOS, Chipset drivers from this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Asmita

Thank you for your reply.  I've updated the BIOS and there were two Windows Updates that I have installed.

However, the same issue persists.  The fan going non stop and high system interrupts.  The only way i have found to stop this is to set the Maximum Processor State to 80% through the Advanced Power Settings.  Not ideal as I imagine I'm not getting the full speed of the processors.  Various documents openings and general response times seem slower.  The non stop fan, even when no programs are running, has only happened in the last 2-3 months.  It must be through Windows Updates or Feature updates.

Best Regards

Nick

Appreciate you trying the steps.

Please try re-installing the operating system using these steps - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool

Let me know.

Hi there

Would that wipe out any files I've stored locally and also any software that I've installed ?

That seems a drastic measure after ensuring the BIOS and Windows Updates are current.

Thank you

Hi @Nico-

I'm afraid, the recovery will delete your data and software installed. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your regarding this issue.

Thanks!
