Hi@bazza685,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing network adapter issues with the HP Notebook.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Try uninstall and reinstall the network adapter from device manager.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing System Restore from windows on the PC if worked few days ago.
  • Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine whether the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures.

For any hardware issue or repair please click on the link Phone Assist Worldwide

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi,

I have the same problem with my also quite new (3 months old) HP Laptop.

I tried updating the drivers, and rolling back. All failed to get it back working properly.

I do notice a pattern. The adapter always seems to work properly if I put the laptop into its charger.  Tested this a few times, and it works, whether its on the old or newer drivers. It always work if I put the Laptop on AC Power. It stays working after unplugging it. It just need that AC Power to make it working initially, and will stay working after unplugging it.

So,... I believe this is a software issue related to its power management settings. So now I can use the Laptop and connect to the internet as long as I can find a wall socket to connect it at wake up/start up.

Which bring us to this  :

1. This is a Laptop, meant to provide mobility.

2 . Have to bring the charger at all times.

3. Have to have a wall socket accessible.

This issue needs to be fixed!

Bram
