Have laptop HP 14-bs028ur. It has a Realtek RTL8723DE wi-fi module installed.
Since the purchase, wi-fi operation was not stable (periodic breaks, speed jumps)
At the same time, other laptops at home work fine. The router changed, checked twice. Drivers pereprobyval large number, put different OS. The problem remained. I purchased a wi-fi module external - usb. It works well with it, only the module gets hot. In addition, I do not like sticking module interferes. I want everything to be properly installed.
I bought Intel 9260NGW, installed it, the computer stopped running, the black screen and then nothing happens. On the Internet, read about whitelist, was upset.
Found a Maintenance and Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05485573
See page 4 for Support for the following WLAN formats:
● Realtek RTL 8188EE 802.11 bgn 1x1 WiFi Adapter
● Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11 bgn 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo Adapter
● Realtek RTL8723BE-VB 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter
● Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9461 802.11 AC 1x1 WiFi + BT5 Combo Adapter (non-vPro) (MUMIMO supported)
I chose the latter (Wireless-AC 9461) because I have one antenna. Bought, installed and was very upset. When loading, caps lock blinks (motherboard 5.3 (flashing) The Caps Lock indicator flashes slowly 5 times, then quickly flashes 3 times. The BIOS has timed out with the built-in controller.) Black screen and nothing else happens.
Bios updated to the latest version. How to be? External module is not convenient for me. Internal constantly failing, changing to the same is not relevant, very weak.
Sorry for bad English, I am from Russia, I used a translator. Waiting for advice.

Hi:
For now, try updating the wifi driver to this version and see if it helps...
This package contains the DCHU driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188EE, RTL8723BE, RTL8723DE, RTL8821CE, and RTL8822BE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook and desktop models running a supported Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows 10 Cloud operating systems.

If you want to change the wifi adapter, you can try this one...works with only one antenna cable.
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)
HP part # L17365-005
Unfortunately, the card has been on back order for months on the HP parts store, but there are several for sale on eBay.

The 8821CE will have the same throughput on the 2.4 GHz wifi band as the 8723, but it will have up to 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band if you have an AC router.

The latest drivers are installed, the ones to which you gave the link.
Realtek RTL8821CE - this module is not listed. There is no guarantee that it will work. I just can not understand why Intel 9461 does not work, although the site says that it is compatible.
I do not want to make a third purchase with the possibility of repeating the situation. Is there another solution to the problem?

The reason the Intel 9461 won't work is because it will only work in notebooks with the 8th gen or newer core processors.
I can't 100% guarantee the 8821 will work, but I am pretty sure it will.
In any event, that is the only other wifi card where the Bluetooth and wifi will work with one antenna.
If you have installed the latest driver already, most likely the 8723DE card you have is defective.

You're very welcome.
Other than replacing the 8723DE with the same one with the same part number, the 8821CE is the only other wifi/Bluetooth card that will work with only one antenna.
I was not aware of any BIOS whitelists in that model series, but maybe in the Russian Federation there is a requirement to restrict any wifi card not listed in the service manual from working.
It definitely is a gamble on your part to try the 8821CE, but not as much as the other two cards you tried.
If you decide to buy one, let us know if it worked or not.
I do know the card works in many other HP notebooks where it is not listed in the service manual as a supported wifi card.
Here is one such discussion for example...

Friend thank you so much! I ordered and installed the module without any problems. Now the speed of the Internet has increased and the range of 5Ghz has appeared. Thanks again! It was necessary to immediately ask the HP community, I would not have to buy 3 modules just like that)))
