Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I tried downloading the driver from Realtek's official website because HP's driver page didnt have anything for Windows 8.1,

but it just says no connections available still. It worked perfectly fine in Windows 10, so I don't think the Wifi card is faulty.😠

This is gonna give me a headache!

Keep in mind: i'm not gonna upgrade to Windows 10/11.

Wifi card: Realtek RTL8821CE

Laptop: HP Laptop 15-dw1001wm

Original OS: Windows 10 S

Hi:

This is the latest W8.1 driver HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp91501-92000/sp91514.exe

If the above driver doesn't work, then the card is not supported in W8.1.

It does the same thing on W7.

Drivers install but card doesn't connect.

Some kind of BIOS thing I imagine.

You can also try installing the wireless button driver for W8.1.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74484.exe

Someone posted a YouTube video for how to get the single band RTL8723DE single band card to work on W7, but I don't know if it will work on the RTL8821CE or on W8.1.
