I would like to know if my HP laptop (15-dy2088ca) will connect to a docking station (Kensington 38249 SD4800P) that has USB-C Alt Mode connectivity. From the HP website the laptop has a "SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate" port. Will the laptop connect to the Kensington docking station properly via the USB-C port to allow use of all of the ports on the docking station (HDMI, USB-A, etc.)?

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06955319
It ONLY has 1 hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
Regards.
