If your USB Root Hub is not working on Windows 11 (HP, Intel Core i7) but still charges your mobile while failing to detect keyboard/mouse, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Basic Checks
- Try a Different USB Port – Plug the keyboard/mouse into another port.
- Test on Another Device – Check if your keyboard/mouse works on another PC.
- Restart the Laptop – Unplug all USB devices → Restart → Plug them back in.
- Try a Different Cable – If using a USB hub or extension cable, connect directly to the laptop.

- Find "Hardware and Devices" → Run the troubleshooter.
Check Device Manager

- Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
- Right-click each USB Root Hub → Uninstall device → Restart the PC.
Update or Roll Back USB Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Win + X).
- Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
- Right-click "USB Root Hub" → Update driver → Search automatically for drivers.
- If the issue started recently, right-click → Properties → Roll Back Driver.
Power Management Settings
- In Device Manager, right-click USB Root Hub → Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
- Click OK → Restart the laptop.
