Hi @Britt612 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Pavilion x360 is stuck in Airplane mode, and now, even after installing a new modem, you're unable to connect to the internet. The settings page showing blank and the computer freezing indicate deeper system or network-related issues. Let's troubleshoot step by step:

1. Disable Airplane Mode:

  • Keyboard Shortcut: Try pressing the Fn + F12 keys (the key with an airplane icon) to disable Airplane mode.
  • Action Center:
    • Press Windows + A to open the Action Center.
    • Look for the Airplane Mode toggle and turn it off.

2. Network Adapter Reset:

If the above doesn't work, reset the network adapter.

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Network Adapters.
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Disable. Wait a few seconds, then right-click it again and select Enable.

3. Check for Driver Issues:

If the issue persists:

  • In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and choose Update Driver.
  • Select Search automatically for updated driver software to ensure your network adapter drivers are up to date.

4. Network Reset:

Perform a network reset to restore settings to default.

  • Go to Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  • Scroll down and select Network Reset.
  • After resetting, restart your PC and try reconnecting to the network.

5. Reboot in Safe Mode with Networking:

If the laptop still freezes:

  • Restart the laptop and repeatedly press the F8 or Shift + F8 key before Windows loads to enter Safe Mode.
  • Choose Safe Mode with Networking.
  • Try connecting to the internet and see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
