I changed proxy settings in Internet Options to "Automatically detect settings" and unchecked the proxy server. However, it keeps going back to the proxy server. For this problem, I am having difficulty opening web pages and links.

Hi @59AN

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern. The proxy setting reverting back can prevent normal browsing, so let’s go through steps to correct this:

  1. Open Windows Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  2. Select Network & Internet.
  3. Click Proxy on the left panel.
  4. Under Manual proxy setup, ensure that Use a proxy server is turned Off.
  5. Under Automatic proxy setup, keep Automatically detect settings turned On.
  6. Close Settings and restart the system once to apply changes.
  7. After restart, open the HP App and verify connectivity. If pages still do not load, run Diagnose & Fix from the HP App to check network configuration.

These steps ensure that Windows does not force a proxy and allow the HP App to connect properly.

This should stabilize your browsing and allow links to open without reverting back to proxy.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
