I have the Marvel fast ethernet 100mb/s card in my machine. I want to know if it possible to upgrade it to a gigabit card. Is this possible and could I get the part# for the upgrade?

Hi, @bulldog46 :
You can always install an external USB to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter when you want to connect by ethernet.
They are pretty cheap nowadays.

It comes soldered with the motherboard. Not an upgradable component.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, the ethernet adapters on any notebook I have ever known of made in the last 10 years, are chips soldered and integrated onto the motherboard.
The older notebooks from the 90's and early 2000's had mini PCI cards that you could remove and replace, but those were all 10/100 speeds anyway.
