Hello,

Since 3 years I am very pleased with my HP Spectre 14 EF2000 laptop.

He works fine and as I take care of this laptop he's still in a brand new state. Only ... I have a TP- Link DECO BE 85 mesh system that also does a very good job.

2 weeks ago my internet service provider increase speed limits: down upto 2.5 Gbps an up to 98 Mbps with fiber coming and symmetric 2.5 Gbps speed (up and down).

The built-in card (AX211-Intel) only supports speeds upto 2.4 Gpbs download max. so **bleep** cannot handle the current speeds or fiber speeds in the future. Regarding the condition of this laptop without any defect, I am looking for an upgrade of the wifi card.

Anybody who has experiences with the Intel BE200 wifi 7 card after replament of the original AX211 with the BE 200? I don't kwow if Intel's BE 200 is excluded by the BIOS (HP BIOS exclusion list) and if replacement causes conflicts with other parts in this laptop.

Anybody who has experience with this upgrade?

Many thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi:

It is highly unlikely you will get a response from anyone that actually upgraded the Wi-Fi card in that model series.

Folks usually don't do that when they already have decent performing dual band cards installed.

It appears that the model series only came with the AX211 or AX411.

The only help I can provide if you want to experiment with the BE200, would be to buy this model card/part number:

Intel BE200 M.2 2230 Wi-Fi 7 + Bluetooth 5.4 non-vPro WW WLAN module   HP part # / Intel SPS # N39883-005

IMHO, it has a very good chance of working.

With pleasure, the following update.

I contacted this morning HP Assistance by chat to ask if they could confirm the compatibility of my laptop with HP Part nr. 39882-002 (Intel BE200). They stated it's not compatible.

During the chat session I foudn the next HP source that confirms in my opnion formally the compatibility: https://support.hp.com/be-fr/document/ish_9537398-9910995-16

I als wonder if i the Intel BE 200, available in any regular shop, is the same product with the same specs as the

HP variant. I can hardly imagine that Intel would produce a specific version of the same product (Intel BE200) for HP ... ?

Don't know what to do anymore. I can buy the BE200 in Belgium for 27 euro's. Built in should cost at about 40 euro's. For the same price a have a very good usb wifi adapter from tp-link with many practical cons regarding te dimensions, loss of an usb port, etc.).

Any advise is very wellcome. Should I give this a try? Do I risk to mess up my laptob totally?

Kind regards, Koen

All you need to do is to make sure that the card you buy has the Intel SPS# on it that matches the HP part number I posted which is N39883-005.

See the same SPS# on the Intel label?  That is the number you need to make sure you get the non-vPro card.

HP N39883-005 Intel BE200NGW Wireless WiFi6 Card BT5.4 Bluetooth NGFF M.2 5.8Gbps 802.11ax - OS-STOR...

I cannot find any Wi-Fi card doing a general search that has the Intel 39882-002 SPS number.

So, if the Intel card you want to buy for 27 Euros has the N39883-005, it has a good chance of working.

HP is going to tell you it won't work, because it wasn't offered in the model series as a supported Wi-Fi card.

Thanks for your kind and continuous assitance Mr. Tikkanen.

I can't see an image of the card in the online shop where I can buy it for 27€.

But this one should be OK?: https://www.amazon.com.be/-/en/BE200-Wireless-Bluetooth-5800Mbps-processors/dp/B0CSYJDJGP/ref=sr_1_1...

Thanks once more for your all your efforts.

Kind regards,

Koen

EDIT: this one could also be OK? Intel® Wi-Fi 7 BE200 M.2 no vPro wlan adapter Bulk, Bulk

You're very welcome, Koen.

The link from Amazon is the correct card.

Can you contact the other store that sells it for 27€, and confirm that the Intel SPS# on the label of the card is N39883-005?

If it is, then you can buy that one since it costs less.

The 39882-002 SPS number that you posted,  I discovered is for the vPro card and that will not work.

Hi:

Since the description on the link you posted, indicates it's the non-vPro version, it should work.
