Pavilion, model: 15-n22Bus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Few days ago, I have Google fiber 500 Mbps, but my HP Pavilion laptop, Model 15-n22Bus can only run at 85 Mbps.  Google Tech said I need a new laptop in order to run at faster speed. Instead of buying a new laptop, I am thinking about to upgrade to the latest wifi card. Any suggestions & what is the latest HP wifi card (model #) that I need to buy?

Thanks

Hi:

Before you can upgrade the wifi card, you will have to open up the PC and confirm that there are two antenna cables connected to the wifi card in there now.

You will not be able to upgrade to a dual band card without having two antenna cables to connect to it.

If there are, you can upgrade to one of these two wifi adapters.

AC:

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo HP part # 724935-001

Dual band N:

Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter HP part # 730668-001

You should be able to find either of these adapters on Amazon or eBay.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi adapter.

You're very welcome.

So you have opened up the PC and confirmed that there were two antenna cables attached to the wifi card in there now?

If so, here are the Wifi and bluetooth drivers you need...they will work on either card.

Wifi:    https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78044.exe

BT:      https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75001-75500/sp75330.exe

W10 will install a slightly newer wifi driver after you are connected to the internet, but HP does not have this driver.
