Upgrade RAM

I need help adding RAM on hp envy m6-k125dx for performance related. Can anyone provide a guide on how to do this? Pls.

Please refer to the maintenance and service guide on your notebook's support site for the memory upgrade information (chapter 1), and the memory removal and replacement procedure (chapter 4).

This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook:

If you haven't replaced the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" solid state drive (SSD), you may want to do that too.

Is it necessary to upgrade the SSD (or just advisable) when ugrading RAM?my SSD has more than 500gb of space. I'm adding RAM because virtualization slows the my system down with only 8gb of memory.

Does your notebook already have a 2.5" SSD?

The specs indicate that it came with a 750 GB 5,400 RPM slow-poke mechanical hard drive.

It is not necessary to replace the drive when you upgrade the memory but installing a 2.5" SSD will improve performance as much if not more than installing the additional memory.

You're very welcome.

Look into either the Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" SSD or the WD Blue SA510 2.5" SSD.

500 GB or 1 TB depending on how much storage space you need.

The Samsung has slightly better write speeds.
