ProBook 470 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to upgrade the WLAN module RealTek  RTL8723BE of my ProBook 470 G2 into a better one.  Can you suggest any compatible modules?

I would prefer to avoid the USB option.

Hi:

I am pretty sure that your notebook only has one antenna cable connected to the Realtek wifi adapter in there now.

All dual band wifi cards require two antenna cables to work correctly.

You would have to completely disassemble the entire notebook including the display panel to properly run a second antenna.

If you are willing to sacrifice having Bluetooth, you can install the Intel 3160 AC wifi card.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter   HP Part # 710662-001.

You would attach the antenna cable to the Main terminal on the wifi card.

The Bluetooth will not work without the second antenna cable.

Indeed, it has a single antenna:

I need Bluetooth so I am afraid I will have to sacrifice a USB port 😥

Thank you for your reply!

You're very welcome.

They make some dual band AC USB nano adapters nowadays that hardly stick out of the USB port.
