Hello everyone. I want to upgrade wifi card of my computer. My computer have an antenna but I want to use AC Module. Every AC Module is using 2 antenna. If I buy an AC Card and 2 antenna, can I use that ?

This card is not AC Module but it's dual band

Thank you.

Hi:

if you add a second antenna, you can use this AC card in your notebook, if it currently only has one antenna cable.

It is the AC version of the card you posted.   See if aliexpress has this one for sale, or get it on eBay.

Are you serious ? Thank you so much.

How did you find hp part number ?

You're very welcome.

Yes, I am serious.

I've recommended that card to dozens of forum members.

Your notebook does not have a BIOS whitelist, so you can probably install any Intel 7260AC wifi card you want.

But I recommend that card since it has a HP part number and is pretty easy to come by.

I found the part in the HP 850 G1 service manual.  The 850 G1 has the same processor and chipset family as your model has.

Chapter 3, page 29.

It should work just fine.

It will have a maximum throughput of 300 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.

I know its solved, but just to give some feedback: I did exactly what was described. I searched a "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 " with an 710661-001 sticker on it from Aliexpress and installed that in my device. Then I used the HP EliteBook 850 G1 driver list for Windows 10 from here and its working fine 🙂

That is good news, @BastianW

I would update the wifi and bluetooth drivers to their final versions released by Intel...

Wifi:   Version: Latest (Latest) Date: 5/21/2019

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28621/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Intel...

Bluetooth:   Version: Latest (Latest) Date: 5/21/2019

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28622/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Intel-Wireless-7260-Fam...

When updating the bluetooth software, go to the Windows control panel>Programs>Uninstall a program.

Let the list populate.   Find and uninstall any Intel Bluetooth software listed there.

Restart the PC, and install the updated driver.
