Product: Pavilion G7
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it possible to upgrade the WiFi card on my pavilion g7 laptop? Can’t seem to handle the new internet speeds and the range is really bad in areas it shouldn’t be when compared to other devices.

Hi:

 

It all depends on what model g7 notebook you have.

 

g7-2200 and g7-2300 model series, you should be able to upgrade the wifi card.

 

g7-2100 model series and older, no.

Unfortunately that model series has a BIOS whitelist which will not allow the installation of any other wifi card than what is already installed now.

 

If you want dual band wifi, you would have to use a USB dual band wifi adapter.

 

They make some nano-size ones that hardly stick out of the USB port.
