Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an HP 15-G073NR and it has the Realtek RTL8188EE wireless card. I looked through the service manual and saw some had Bluetooth 4.0 but I don't believe any of them have 5GHz. Does this laptop have a whitelist on what wireless cards can be used? If not can someone suggest a wireless card that support both 5GHz and Bluetooth 4.0 if possible.

@Dudefoxlive,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The Realtek RTL8188EE's only have one antenna connected to the card, and there is no second antenna.

Any dual-band N or AC card will require two antennas to be connected in order for the Wi-Fi card to work properly.

If your notebook does in fact have two antenna wires that you can connect to a Wi-Fi card, then yes you can upgrade to an AC wireless card.

Below are the tested wireless cards on your computer.

● Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter

● Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter

● Realtek RT8723BE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter

● Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 HMC Combo Adapter

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
