I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to connect to the 5GHz band.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Does your computer have a dual-band wireless card?
You need to have a dual-band wireless card on the computer to be able to connect to a 5GHz band and it has nothing to do with the driver.
If you could help me with the product number of your computer I will check the specifications of your computer and let you know whether your computer has a dual-band wireless card or not.
I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Thank you for the information.
Your computer has a single band wireless card on the computer and that is the reason why you are unable to connect to the 5GHz band.
Below is the link for the specifications of your computer.
You need to upgrade the wireless card on the computer to be able to connect to the 5GHz band. Below are some of the dual-band wireless cards which are supported on your computer.
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2×2 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (non vPRO)
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1×1 + Bluetooth 4.2 LE Combo Adapter
I hope that answers your question.
