Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, i own hp pavilion - 15-au181na ( Intel i5-7200U CPU ) which has got Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 WIFI card
i wanted to UPGRADE my wifi card for the higher wifi speed & the 5.0 Bluetooth version
i came across with these cards but i don't know if they are compatible with my laptop or not

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9260 NGFF 1730Mbps WiFi+Bluetooth 5.0 802.11ac Card

Intel Dual Band Wireless 9560NGW NGFF 1730M WiFi Bluetooth5.0 802.11ac Card

Intel Wireless-Ac 9260, 2230, 2X2 Ac+Bt, Gigabit, No Vpro

please suggest me the best Upgrade options among these cards or any other wifi cards

Thanks

Hi:

The Intel 9560 won't work because that is a CRF (companion RF) card and only works in specific model notebooks the wifi card originally came with.

Since your notebook is a consumer class notebook, the only card you should experiment with of the 3 listed is the one that specifically indicates it is a non-vPro card (the last card you posted).

vPro cards only work on higher end business notebooks and mobile workstations.

There is no 100% guarantee the card will work because it is not listed as supported in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual.

thanks for the reply..
but do u recommend any other card better than the one I  have

You're very welcome.

The Intel 3168AC Wi-Fi card was the best Wi-Fi card HP offered in the 15-au model series.

There is no card that I can guarantee will work, so any card you try will be an experiment.

You can also experiment with the Intel AX200 (Wi-Fi 6)  non-vPro model.

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro  HP part # L35282-005

This would be the description and part number I recommend...you can usually find one on eBay if you search by the HP part number.

thanx. i will try my luck with that card...
just 1 more request.
i have asked 1 more question  in other thread. about the Bios Update
if u have any knowledge about that please help me out

Anytime.

I always run the notebook BIOS updates by running the exe file in Windows and if that didn't work, unfortunately, I would not know what you can do about the BIOS update problem.

Please post back and let us know if the Intel AX200 Wi-Fi card works in the 15-au model series.
