Hi, I just got upgrading my laptop: hp laptop model 14-cm0105au to 16gb of ram the ram is hx426s15ib/16 but it doesn't turned on my laptop. I've been researching my model on what is the maximum capacity it says 32gb of ram 2400mhz, and I know it doesn't matter because I bought a 2666mhz ram, but I know it doesn't matter on that issue, but when I go with the old ram it turns on, Can you help with this issue?

Hi:

This is the spec of the memory you bought based on what you posted:

HX426S15IB2_16.ai

I believe the memory doesn't work because the CL15 timing spec is way too fast.

Your notebook's BIOS can't make the adjustment to the faster timing speed which is why the notebook won't boot up and there is no way to manually adjust the timing in the BIOS settings.

If you are installing DDR4-2666 MHz memory, it has to be CL19.

Use standard performance memory in your notebook like the kind that HP installed.

DDR4-2400 CL17, DDR4-2666 CL19 or DDR4-3200 CL22
